North West Sussex Seagulls were very pleased to be able to make a donation of £580 to Albion in The Community to assist them in their new disability Programme. The launch event too place in Dicks bar and pictured below with NWSS Chairman Andy Stonestreet and club treasurer Ian Morris is Matt Francis, Captain of the BHAPFC Powerchair Team.
Over the past few years NWSS have supported First Responders groups in Henfield and Horsham as many of our members are from the Billingshurst area we thought it was about time we supported the Billingshurst Emergency Assistance Team (BEAT)
Hannah Alsbury-Morris from BEAT sent us the flowing.
I am overwhelmed that you are considering helping BEAT. It is very kind, thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me tonight, and for supporting BEAT responders. We are delighted that you have chosen to help us.
The £250 generously donated by NWSS has already been put to good use, and has been put towards the new PAD (public access defibrillator) Site which will be outside of the new Sainsbury's on Billingshurst high street. We are creating a sign which we have mentioned NWSS as generous contributors, and it will be displayed by the PAD site.
The opening of the PAD was Thursday 6th August, and a picture of the sign is shown below.
North West Sussex Seagulls, presented a cheque for £350 to Royal United FC, a football club for boys and girls based in the Southwater area. Under 7's manager Mike Tydd said that the money will help their club enormously. "All of our committee, managers and coaches are volunteers and we plan to use part of this money to put one of our Under 8’s coaches through the FA level 1 coaching badge. The balance of the money will be used to purchase some F.A Respect Barriers, which helps keep spectators back from the touch lines whilst the games are active. We have found these to be very useful in the past. We thank NWSS for their donation to us and for all the support that they offer to other local sports clubs and individuals".
NWSS made a small donation to Tudor House and received a thankyou letter from Clare Brunt (Practice Manager) with the message below and a card pictured below from two of the children the organisation help.
Thank you so much for the kind donation that you sent us. We will use the money to buy new games and sensory toys for our young people.
I have enclosed a thank you card made by two of our young people.
The NWSS AGM was for the second year running held at the Kings Arms in Billingshurst. Many thanks to Landlord and NWSS member Chris Shambrook for your hospitality. Ian Morris, Mike Wilson and I were once again elected to the committee and we thank the 60 plus members who attended for their continued support.
Several local clubs organisations and charities were formally offered donations during the meeting, more of that to follow.
We were also very pleased that a special guest found the time to join us after the formalities had finished ad we thank him for his honestly and openness in answering our questions.
